Construction of housing for teachers

Since there are not enough elementary and high school teachers who come from Ruvumu, we need to hire teachers residing outside of Ruvumu.

Some teachers from remote arrears were typically housed with families. This caused discomfort and non-productivity issues for teachers.

To overcome this problem, the parents’ committee suggested that the Foundation built low-income housing to attract and retain teachers coming from outside the region.

In response to this need, the Foundation undertook in 2014 the construction of a house that could be rented to the teachers. The house construction was completed in 2016. It can accommodate up to six teachers and it is equipped with beds, mattresses, tables, and chairs.

The money collected from the rent is used to maintain the house, improve the school’s infrastructure and buy school equipment.
