Reward

Thanks to the Foundation’s support- which include among other books, notebooks and pencils- students’ academic results have improved. In addition to helping the school in general, the Foundation also rewards students who distinguish themselves individually by achieving very good academic results.

In September 2006, the Foundation rewarded two students at the school who had performed very well in the national entrance examination to high school. This was a first-ever occurrence in Ruvumu. The Foundation’s award recognizes the efforts made by students and parents. Its objective is to encourage students to always strive higher in their studies as to better succeed in life. The two winners from the same family received a scholarship of 25 Canadian dollars each.

The scholarship was presented by Pierre Kirandage in 2017, a few months prior to his passing. He was accompanied by Seth Niyongabo, coordinator of the Foundation’s committee at the school. The mother of the two girls and other students were all present for the presentation award. The two recipient sisters, now in high school, attended the 6th grade class together.
